Project summary
Open Tug's customers manually tracked barge shipments by reading carrier emails and updating spreadsheets daily. Tech 42 built an agentic AI pipeline on Amazon Bedrock that automatically processes incoming emails, extracts shipment data, fuzzy-matches terminal names and barge identifiers against 390k+ records, and writes validated updates to production without human intervention. Processing time dropped from over 20 minutes to under 30 seconds on average. Infrastructure was upgraded with SQS queuing, Lambda-driven autoscaling, and ECS demand-driven worker scaling to handle parallel processing. A SageMaker Live Endpoint predicts vessel speed for accurate arrival time estimation. Customers now manage their barge supply chain in half the previous time. They gain visibility into fleet performance that drives efficiency improvements in assignment, rightsizing, and dock scheduling. The platform processes over 650k barge updates and scales with business growth without service interruption.
